FAQ

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup treatment that places special pigments under the top layer of your skin. The result is tiny hair-like strokes that blend perfectly into your own hairs to create natural and fuller-looking eyebrows. Done correctly it can create, enhance or even reshape the appearance of eyebrows. The results are stunning, natural and fuller looking brows made up of crisp looking hair strokes.

What is Blade & Shade?

Blade and shade, also called Microshading,  is the same procedure as described above but with the added technique of shading, this is done with a different hand-tool after the hair strokes are complete to add more definition and depth in areas. This is a better option if you are looking for a bolder more striking look, or if you have sparse, thin brows that need some extra depth to help the microblading look more natural. This is a better option if you wish to wear less or no eyebrow makeup.

Who is Permanent Makeup For?

Permanent makeup treatments for the brows are perfect for anyone looking to enhance their own brows, whatever their current condition. Whether you have full brows already and you are just looking to enhance their shape, or if you are suffering from hair loss or you have over plucked them in the past.

You must be 18 years or older. You should strictly not have this procedure carried out if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or if you are have cancer and are receiving chemotherapy or radiotherapy. You must not be on any accutane medication for acne; if you have, you must have stopped these 12 months prior to any permanent makeup treatment.

Does it hurt?

Everyone’s tolerance for pain is different and some clients may find the procedure uncomfortable. A numbing agent can be applied to the brow area to minimize any discomfort and to make the procedure more bearable.

How long does it last?

Results can last anywhere from one to three years, depending on different factors such as clients skin type, skin-care routine, products used, sun-exposure and lifestyle. Initially, the brows will appear slightly darker after the treatment but the pigment will soften in the first couple of weeks of healing, because of this a touch up is recommended to allow for best results around 6-12 weeks later. The hair strokes appear crisp and bold to start with but can fade and look more powdered over time. This is due to our skin healing, regenerating and aging. This is why to prolong beautiful brows, it is recommended that clients return once a year to have a color boost and the hair strokes enhanced.

How long does the procedure take?

Your first treatment will take the longest. Initial appointments can last 2.5 to 3 hours. This includes paperwork, consultation, and developing a plan for the brow shape you’d like to go for.

How long does it take to heal?

Skin rejuvenates in a 30 day cycle, and at that point, the true appearance of your new brows is revealed. All clients receive a 2-week aftercare plan following the procedure to aid with the healing process.
